About Us

Mission Statement

At The Grateful Gato, we believe every animal deserves a life filled with love, health, and joy.

Our mission is to support homeless pets, providing safe shelter, health care and socialization until they are united with their forever family.

Our primary means of achieving that goal is through proceeds from our Cat Cafe, while also offering educational events, fun social events and hope to expand to offer small grants for homeless individual pets in need.

About Us

Our founders, Julie and Nick are lifelong animal lovers, and cannot imagine their lives without the cats that run their home!.

Julie is a Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist with over 30 years of veterinary experience, and a proud member of the Feline Veterinary Medical Association. Cats are an underserved species, with specific psychological, nutritional and medical needs. Cats under the care of the Grateful Gato will benefit from her remarkable passion and expertise in feline health care.

Nick is a gregarious and practical former sales representative and manager of industrial products. He combines his “people skills”, his love for cats and his mechanical aptitude to be the perfect partner in this endeavor.

Nick and Julie have a wide network of colleagues in veterinary care, animal rescue, and pet care who work with them to guide and manage this passion project. Many of them serve on our Board of Directors or our Advisory board, providing the vital team to accomplish the goals of the Grateful Gato.
